1) Minimum Age for Driving Theory Test :

Q. Can I take my theory test before the age of 17?

No. You can only take your theory test once your provisional license becomes valid. For a car this will be your 17th birthday. You can, however book your theory test before your 17th birthday. If you apply for your provisional license before you are 17 you will still have to wait until your birthday before you can take your theory test.

2) Driving lessons :

Q. Driving lessons before passing theory test is beneficial or not?

Yes it is. The DSA recommends you take practical lessons while preparing for your theory test.
The Theory Test will make more sense once you have started to learn to drive. If you’re having professional lessons, ask your instructor if he or she will talk to you about possible Theory questions during your lesson. This will helps you to perform better at the theory test.

3) Test Language Available :

Q. Cannot read or understand written English well?

You can request a voiceover in one of 21 languages. A voiceover allows you to hear the theory test instructions and questions through headphones. The questions will automatically be read out to you, you can hear the answer options by touching the text on the screen.
These languages are:
Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, Dari, English, Farsi, Gujarati, Hindi, Kashmiri, Kurdish, Mirpuri, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Pushto, Spanish, Tamil, Turkish, Urdu, Welsh

4) Hazard Perception :

Hazard Perception Version

The same version of the hazard perception test is used for all categories of test as available clues and perception of danger are skills that are necessary in all drivers and riders.

Hazard perception test examination process

Each hazard clip will start with a freeze frame of the start of the video sequence and a count down from 10 will commence. At the end of the count down the clip will start to play and you will be required to click the mouse button each time you see a developing hazard.

To let you know that the program has registered your click a red flag will appear on a grey band across the bottom of the screen - one flag for each click you make in any particular clip. At the end of the clip all the flags will be removed before you start the next clip.

5) End of the test :

You will be given your result letter at the end of the test.
The letter tells whether you passed or failed, and it gives you feedback on your test. It tells you in which topic areas you answered questions incorrectly, so you know which topics to look at again, and it tells you the breakdown of points you scored throughout the hazard perception part i.e. how many 5's, 4's, 3's you scored.

If you pass, you will also receive your theory test certificate with your theory test number. This number is required when you book your practical test. Your theory test certificate is valid for two years from the date of your test. If you do not take your practical test within this two year period you will have to take another theory test.

If you fail, the theory test you should look at the feedback given on the letter and identify why you failed. If you want to book another theory test you can book a test straight away, but you cannot take the test for another three clear working days.

6) On Test Day :

At theory test, you need to bring the following items with you:
both parts of your signed photo card license (the photo card and paper counterpart)
if you have an old-style license you must have your paper license and a valid passport
your appointment card or booking number

If you don't have the correct documents with you on the day, you won't be able to take your test and you will lose your fee.

7) Credits & refunds :

All monies paid are non-refundable, however; credits may be added to your account if you experience difficulties with this site due to operational problems and/or unscheduled downtime.

8) While taking the online Practice Tests :

One question at a time is shown on screen. To select an answer, click on the button to the left of the answer option text or image which you want to select.

Q.Can I leave questions I am not sure about, and answer them later?

Yes. You can mark questions with a flag by clicking the 'Flag' button this will allow you to go back at the end of the test. When you select to Flag a question it automatically takes you to the next question. You can go back to flagged questions by clicking on the 'Review Flagged Questions' button at the end of the test.

Q. Can I see the results of all the tests I have taken?

Your online profile tracks your progress throughout your subscription so you can see how much you've improved, and what areas you need to focus on.

Q. When can I get my result?

The results of the test are available immediately after finishing the test.
